1. Talented director Gunasekhar directed Okkadu and Mahesh Babu, Bhoomika played the lead roles. Prakash Raj and Mukesh Rushi played the other important roles in the film which is being produced by MS Raju on Sumanth Art Productions banner.

2. MS Raju spent Rs 2 crore to erect a set of Charminar and old city where the most of the film has been shot. This is the biggest ever set for a Telugu film during those days.

3. Okkadu will stand in the list of 25 top films if selected in the history of Tollywood. The movie impressed all the sections of the audience.

4. The movie has been remade into Tamil as Gilli, Jore in Bengali and as Tevar in Hindi languages.

5. Okkadu has been made on a budget of Rs 13.5 crores and the movie minted Rs 30 crores in its final run across the world. The movie collected Rs 28 crores across the telugu speaking states and Okkadu minted Rs 2 crores in overseas which is huge.

6. The movie dominated the award ceremonies and it grabbed most of the awards for the year. The movie received 8 Nandi awards, 4 Filmfare awards, 7 Cine MAA awards, 5 Santosham awards and 6 Filmgoer awards.

7. The movie has been initially planned to be produced by Ramoji Rao and Gunasekhar planned to erect the set of Charminar in Ramoji Film City. But Ramoji Rao walked out of the project due to unknown reasons.

8. The movie has been initially titled as ‘Athade Ame Sainyam’ but as it was registered by someone, the makers have named the film as Okkadu.

9. The climax of the movie has been shot for 11 days in the presence of 200 technicians, 300 helpers along with 1000 junior artists.

10. The 100 days event of Okkadu has been celebrated in a grand way on May 31st 2003 on the occasion of Superstar Krishna in Vijayawada. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu attended the event as Chief guest for the event.
